5.17.2023 | I SHOULDN’T BE HERE
It’s 2005.
I was finishing up my master’s degree.
He had been established in the IT field.
I wanted a job right out of graduate school.
He desired career advancement.
We both chose careers, warmer temperatures and new beginnings.
We were a couple, but not married.
We were talking about moving south.
He applied for jobs in Charlotte, North Carolina.
As I did the same.
He got a phenomenal job offer.
And, we planned our 1st trip south.
At this time, I had a PT Cruiser.
We drove it down.
We met his friend in the area.
He took off the day of work to show us around.
Knowledgeable, because he had been living here.
We traveled throughout all of Charlotte, North Carolina and Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Visiting tons of new and old neighborhoods.
I was still pretty young.
Around 28 years old.
And, I remember it, like it was yesterday.
It happened inside the KB Model Home in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
We went into this particular model home.
And, as we shut the front door it was like the whole house shook.
It was really eerie from the moment we step foot inside.
We walked up the stairway.
Tapped on the walls to understand the structure a bit more.
I ain’t kidding when I say the wall tapped back.
We kind of over looked it.
Him and I went straight into the master bedroom.
Walked right back to the master closet.
Tapped on the wall, AGAIN.
And, it tapped back.
I ran out of the master bedroom and into the hallway.
I yelled to his friend, “Are you tapping on the walls”
He replied, “No!”
Everyone shouted, “let’s get out of here!”
We ran down the steps and out the front door.
Right past the model home agent.
We got back into my PT Cruiser.
As we started driving out of the neighborhood.
All four windows in my car started going up and down.
I said, “Are you guys playing with the windows?”
They said, “No!”
I said, “lock them then!”
If you have ever been in a PT Cruiser you know all the controls are right on the dashboard.
It’s the only car I have ever been in with window locks.
We drove back to the hotel.
Unsettled.
I said, “I don’t think we should move south!”
He downplayed it by saying “will you just stop, it was nothing!”
Well, it was something!
THEY SPOOKED US!
On the first day.
I was too young to trust my intuition.
They were communicating with me.
But, I didn’t listen.
If I had listened to my guides.
I would not be
Here
Alone
Miles
Away
From
Family
Initially, I had spent some time researching the area.
And, learned this place was called
It was owned and operated by Tammy Faye Bakker and Jim Bakker.
In 2005 I told them I would never return again.
Until…
